Noise emission from motor sports is a continuous concern for these clubs. Excess emissions lead to complaints from residents and puts the authorities that issued the permits under pressure. Often this leads to far-reaching limitation of these permits and even closure of the track. Noise emissions vary greatly depending on the mufflers used and on the driving style. As such, individual motorcyclists can greatly affect emissions at will. By measuring the noise continuously during the race, the motorcyclists with high emissions can be quickly detected and removed from the race, which enables the organization to keep the total emission to the environment within the limits set in the permit. The Munisense dynamic measurement system replaces the now common static measuring method, which determines the emission of the engines under fixed conditions prior tot the race. Besides causing extra noise emission to the environment for the test, these tests are not representative of the noise during the race.
