Noise monitoring in combination with nudging techniques has greatly reduced noise pollution for residents in the entertainment area of Leuven.

Our noise monitoring stations, which in addition to all the usual sound parameters, also provide sound recognition, were linked to nudging systems.

Sound levels set in combination with defined sound recognition parameters were used as a trigger for a range of nudging techniques.  For example, certain light projections reduced noise pollution by 30%!
