What a fantastic start to 2024! Our equipment and portal, through our partner in Belgium, Akron, have been selected for the wonderful Flemish project "De Oorzaak" (The Cause).

The decisive factor was the quality of our affordable and scalable sound monitoring systems and the associated platform, with support for all important sound parameters and sound recognition!

In the coming year, the quality of the sound environment will be measured (in real time) at no fewer than 2,400 locations in Antwerp, Ghent, and Leuven.

We will discover the noise exposure, which sounds we hear daily, where they are loudest, which are perceived as most annoying, and their impact on our health.

It is the largest sound study in Belgium (and Europe), called "De Oorzaak" (The Cause), an initiative of De Morgen, the University of Antwerp, and Antwerp University Hospital.

This Flemish citizen science project is explained on De Morgen's website. A valuable initiative that certainly deserves to be replicated in the Netherlands.
