Noisy vehicles are a major source of nuisance in many municipalities

Noisy vehicles are a major source of nuisance for local residents in many municipalities. A large majority of road users do not want to be a source of nuisance and are willing to adjust their driving behavior. However, they are often unaware of the nuisance they cause.

By making these drivers immediately aware of their excessively loud driving, they can adjust their behavior. This allows for significant prevention of nuisance through self-regulation. Any nuisance that doesn't arise doesn't need to be enforced. A win-win situation for both the local community and the government. It's therefore not surprising that, after Amsterdam, Rotterdam, and the Province of North Holland, a growing number of municipalities and provinces are opting for this approach.

Besides reducing noise pollution for local residents, provinces and municipalities gain greater control over their surroundings thanks to this comprehensive understanding of noise and noise pollution. Furthermore, continuous noise monitoring allows for the effectiveness of implemented measures to be determined, and identifies areas where adjustments are needed.

The Province of Utrecht and the Municipality of Houten are also now using our smart system to combat noise pollution from excessively loud vehicles.
