The largest Flemish citizen science study will soon begin measuring noise. Flemish citizen scientists will use our smart sound sensor, the new NP9, to objectively measure the noise around their homes.
Over the next year, a total of approximately 2,400 Flemish people in Ghent, Antwerp, and Leuven will use our smart sound level meter to measure ambient noise.
The NP9 measures ambient noise outside their homes 24/7. Flemish participants will follow the measurements live via their own dashboard.
This will provide a detailed map of noise in Flanders and its impact on health in the coming months.
After an intensive project lasting approximately eighteen months, the results of De Oorzaak will be presented at the end of 2025.
