Cloud engineer (AWS) for sensor-data SaaS platform
We are looking for an enthusiastic and communicative engineer to help our team and product ahead. Currently we are in the process of migrating from our own hardware to the AWS cloud. For our water product this migration is complete and for the noise product we are in the planning phase. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who wants to help us to start (and finish!) this transition.
Munisense provides online and real-time insight into noise, water quality and groundwater levels. This includes noise measurements in cities - construction projects, terraces etc. - and groundwater level measurements throughout the country. All these applications require different sensors. We make these sensors in-house and we offer the customer an online platform where they can view and analyze their data.
Munisense is not a new kid on the block when it comes to IoT, in fact the company will celebrate its 15th anniversary next year. Our office is in Leiderdorp but we also enable remote developers. Munisense is ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 27001 certified. There is a strong focus on quality and learning. You will be working in a growing, agile team with other motivated front-end and backend engineers.
Currently we are in the process of migrating from our own hardware to the AWS cloud. For our water product this migration is complete and for the noise product we are in the planning phase. We are looking for an enthusiastic engineer who wants to help us to start (and finish!) this transition. The goal is to decommission all of our own hardware. Challenge here is the amount of data. Both the real time data (1000+ measurements/sec) but also the amount of storage. After the migration we will handle the next challenge: cost reduction (optimization) and auto-scaling during load. Of course we also want to keep up to date with any new services that might become available. Together with the rest of the backend team, you are responsible for designing, setting up, maintaining and monitoring our cloud environment.
Our cloud-tech-stack consists of:
AWS EKS (multiple clusters)
Infrastructure as Code (Terraform)
Argo CD for continuous delivery
Amazon Aurora to store sensor data
S3 for file storage
Or regular tech-stack is:
Angular frontend applications
PHP / Golang backend applications
GraphQL + REST / JSON web services
Containers (Docker)
Gitlab CI/CD
We are looking for an enthusiastic and communicative engineer to help our team and product ahead. We are looking for someone that:
Has knowledge/expertise with cloud-native services like EC2, RDS, S3, Cloud Watch, Route 53 and EKS or comparable (AWS-certification is a plus);
Has experience with Infrastructure as Code (via Terraform);
Can share knowledge with the team and will bring in fresh ideas;
Can communicate clear and effectively in English and/or Dutch
Can work together with product owners and other developers
Knowledge of Golang / PHP (backend) and network engineering / Unix systems is a plus.
What's in it for you?
You make a difference in the fast growing market of smart city and IoT
You will be part of a driven group of developers that focus on quality
To have the option to experiment / work with the latest technologies
Flexible working conditions
Option to (partially) work from home
Budget and time to improve yourself
